Mr John William Yettaw leaves together with Senator Jim Webb
Yangon, 16 Aug - At the request of Mr Jim Webb, Chairman of the East Asian and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and the American Embassy to Myanmar, an order was issued for US citizen Mr John William Yettaw, who was serving a seven-year prison term, to serve only half of his prison term and the remaining prison term to be suspended and to be deported on humanitarian grounds for his health and future and as a gesture of taking heed of relations between the US and Myanmar. Mr John William Yettaw left here by air this afternoon together with Senator Mr Jim Webb.
